Dhokla Times: From The Indian Street To The New York Times

The New York Times featured the fabulous and mouth watering Dhokla in it’s Dining section last week, titled “Next Stop, India: Full Steam Ahead” In this article the author David Tanis says —

If you are a lover of street food, India is the place to be. Outrageously delicious snacks, of which there are countless thousands, beckon from every corner.

One of them is dhokla, an irresistible Gujarati snack that is essentially a fluffy, steamed savory bread or cake. Aromatic squares of it are piled high, sprinkled with fluffy green coriander leaves and grated coconut. Immediately after my first bite of dhokla, I wanted more, and more still.

And I feel the same way, each time I eat some Dhokla, it is hard to resist having another piece. the author is also kind enough to share a great recipe at this link. Dhokla is wonderful served hot or cold.

Do check it out and try out this recipe. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
